About the authors: Peer Heinlein

Peer Heinlein has run his own internet provider in Berlin since 1992 when he began using Atari, migrated to OS/2 and then finally to Linux in a UUCP and TCP/IP network. He operates his own infrastructure, circuitry, server and technology and also shares his years of knowledge by teaching, instructing and lecturing at training courses and forums nationwide.

His passion for the possibilities of secure communication gave rise to his first book, „The Postfix Book“, first published in 2002 by Open Source Press and now in its second edition. Open Source Press also published his 2004 book on LPI testing and, together with Thomas Bechtold, a book on Snort intrusion detection.
